Naples Homebuyer Education
Every month, the Housing Development Corporation provides homebuyer education for individuals who are interested in getting prepared for homeownership. We would love to hear feedback from those who have attended the class. Please feel free to share your experiences and stories as you have prepared for and completed the purchase of your home. Information you share may help a future homeowner with their experience. We appreciate your input!

Hi Folks...
Great class at Fifth Third Bank the last 2 weeks. As we neared the end of the night I wanted to offer a couple of new experiences with Bank Owned properties that a few of my clients have recently experienced.
Banks are trying to recover some revenue by mandating that the buyer pre-qualify with them. However, YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED to take their loan. If this happens toyou, your best response is to notify the lender of the request, and let them handle the pre-qual process for the other Bank-Owned proprety lender.
The second concern has been that a blank Lender Authorization form was provided to my client, suggesting that she needed to sign it in order for the bank to even consider her contract. This requested that she provide them with her name, SS#, date of birth, address and signature. Please be very careful of anything that you are asked sign. Had she signed t
this form it would have granted ANYONE (there was no lender information on the form) the right to obtain bank records, employment records - ANYTHING - about her. Your personal information is just that - PERSONAL. We won't you to have affordable safe homes, but we don't want you to fall victim to any scams.
